Music for Hammond organ and chamber ensemble in 24 equal temperament.
The structure of this piece is based on my previous composition "I love total serialism very much! ! !" series.
It is a fully automatic composition/performance algorithm.
I patched in a modular synthesizer to automatically generate noise of my choice, and then forced MIDI pitch and MIDI triggers from it to play various instruments.
The reason why all the pieces are so long is that the music is so complex that your hearing can't keep up with it as you listen to it, and I'm trying to create a kind of "reverse ambient" by tranceing your brain.
The instrumentation this time includes Hammond organ, viola, trumpet, bassoon, guitar, celesta, harp, harpsichord, piano, tuba, double bass, and electronic sounds.
I had no idea that the slightly distorted tone of a Hammond organ without a revolving Leslie speaker would fit so well with the quarter-tone.
An esoteric and eerie live performance from multi-instrumentalist J.P. Shilo conjures up haunting images with a multitude of dark tones. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 8, 2021
Exploring grief, loss, and human resilience, the new collection from experimental composed Sugar Vendil is both fascinating & unsettling. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 26, 2022
C. Diab describes “Exit Rumination” as “a sonic exorcism,” and its dark, swelling songs are equal parts catharsis and tension. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 26, 2018
